Mason's Valentine Box

So last week, Mason comes home with a flyer from Mrs. Hastings about his Valentine's Party. They were going to have a contest for their Valentine containers. There were 4 categories and Mason had set his eyes on "the COOLEST container". **sigh** So instantly, my mind starts turning about a cute V-day mail box.... cute colors with Mason's name on it.... hearts...candy.... cute little ribbon.... THEN I woke up... I was totally in my own little dream world of girly Valentine's Day containers.... Mason declared that he wanted a container that had ANYTHING to do with army.... nothing says I love you like ARMY stuff. So off we went to Joann's and picked out some camo canvas and went searching for military stickers..... The up side to this whole thing was that I just HAD to go to 4 crafty places to find it all. ;) So after scraping Southern Colorado scrapbook stores, we FINALLY managed to pull it off. Mason was very much the perfectionist throughout this whole thing.... I am REALLY afraid that he gets that from me...
And THIS was the final product. ENJOY!!

He is very proud of it and told me that he wouldn't "smoosh it in his backpack, Mom. I think I'll carry it into school." Well THAT'S a relief!!

oh mason what a grand idea. There is a soldier who wrote home for soil and grass seeds. He planted a very small patch outside his tent so he could walk on American soil before each mission. his fellow collegues walk on it also. fyi
