The Wild Beast Feast

OK.... yes... there was a lot of beasts that were eaten... elk, duck, frog legs (bleck), squirrel (seriously?), fish, venison...then there was normal stuff like hot dogs and sliders... more my speed.
My friend Teresa and Weston (I have a crush on him... bigtime).
The kids had sooo much fun just playing on the tramp and getting in water fights.
Here's Mason and his good friend Keaton...
Myself...Lonie and Meghan.
Brookie after the water fight (boys won....) and Landon stealing yet another brownie...
Kellee and her sweet babies...
Good friends Jason, Tiffany and James.
Keith.... always flirtin' with the camera...
 More sweet kiddoes...
I swear Mason has grown at least 5 inches this summer... ugh... Stop already!!
 Nonstop gun action...
Lots of love and loooots of dancing was to be had...
Pink cowboy boots were worn by all.... ;)
The Paxton family was awesome and fun... aaaand I fell in love with their twins.  **sigh**
Landon ate a million frog legs... was scared he might croak.... ha!
And some more pretty girls, Shelby and Sonja.... The Wild Beast Feast was so much fun and we always look forward to spending time with all of our good friends. ;)
And the craziest this girl got was the duck.... made especially for me by Brad... my sweet Louisiana boy.  :)  It was actually my favorite... aside from the margaritas Steve made... :)
And that was our wild and crazy Saturday!  So much fun!

Happy 4th!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!  Hope it was a safe and happy one!!

 Wendy and I.... :)
Yes... the boys found a snake in the yard...
Here is a picture of my sis in law Lori.  She came up from Texas and we have had SO much fun.
Best buddies for 24 years... that's a loooong time!
My sweet nephew, Jordan.... one of the 3 boys I managed to get a pic of!
Sweet Lucas.... He looks like a little A Rod.  :)
And yes... good ol' Landon flipping on the water slide... this boy stops my heart quite a few times a day... and he is the accident prone one...  hmmmmm...

We had a great 4th of July....barring the ban on all fireworks.  :(  I hiked the Rock in the morning with one additional hike and my sweet brother in law flew in today from Texas.  We celebrated with our traditional cake pops...some water fun ....a cool snake find... and good friends.  The fires are slowly getting to be fully contained so thank you for all the emails and concern.  We are good!!  XO, Kris

Devastation

Our community is soooo awesome.  All evacuees had homes to stay in over this scary week.

We have seen the wildlife scattering all over areas that they normally aren't found.  So sad.  :(
Nearly 350 homes were destroyed in this horrendous fire.  It is almost 90 % contained at this point.
This is the Garden of the Gods.  It is a gorgeous tourist location in Colorado Springs and was devastated by the fires.  It is pretty amazing the effort that was put into saving hundreds of homes and how the awesome firefighters were able to steer the fires away from Manitou Springs.  It has been so sad to watch , yet I am so proud of the community and all of the benefits that cropped up to help displaced families and the everyone aiding in the fight.  I have lived against the foothills all my life and have seen many forest fires.  This is by far the worst one I have seen and it was some scary stuff!!
